About the Recipe
Although phyllo pastry is considered healthier than regular puff pastry, you may not be too motivated to work with it, as it's a delicate and time-consuming process to layer all the sheets. Here's a much easier version that's full of flavor and nutritious brain-healthy ingredients!

Ingredients
4Â organic pearsÂ
1 cup chopped walnutsÂ
1 tbsp honeyÂ
1 tsp vanilla extractÂ
½ tbsp cinnamonÂ
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.Â
Wash and dry the pears. Cut them in half lengthwise and core them using a spoon.Â
In a small bowl combine walnuts, honey and cinnamon and stir to combine.Â
In a cast-iron pan (or baking dish) evenly space out the pears skin side down. If they do not stand up on their own cut a small slice off the bottom of the pear.Â
Pour a spoonful of the walnut mixture in the center of each pear.Â
Pour ½ cup of water in the bottom of the pan. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until the pears have softened and the walnuts browned.Â
Drizzle with additional honey (optional) and serve warm.Â
